Hazardous Materials – Identification, Response, and Safety Procedures Practice Test

Working with explosive devices requires a standardized, high-level level of training and proven skills. The credential you’d want to show to be considered part of a bomb squad is the one that demonstrates completion of the nationally recognized bomb-disposal program. The FBI Hazardous Devices School provides this benchmark, training technicians on handling, disposal, safety procedures, and response strategies for a wide range of devices. Holding that certification signals to agencies across jurisdictions that you’ve met a consistent, rigorous standard for EOD work, which is why it’s the credential most commonly required to join or be considered part of a squad.

Other credentials don’t serve the same purpose. DoD clearance is a security clearance, not a certification of EOD capability. EMT certification relates to medical response qualifications, not bomb-disposal proficiency. State certifications can vary by jurisdiction and aren’t universally recognized as the determining credential for squad membership.
